Richard A. Maher, Managing Partner, Sales and Technology
As Managing Partner for Sales and Technology Richard leads all sales and marketing activities and guides development of internal and customer facing technologies including KeyTerm QA. Richard joined Avantix as partner in 2004 and since then has helped the company grow over 400%.
Richard started in the localization industry in 1994 with Donnelley Language Services which later became Lionbridge. After intially working on the rollout of translation tools and processes, Richard lead the development of Liontrack, one of the original Globalization Management Systems. Richard rounded out his globalization management training at Lionbridge as a Business Development Director where he learned the sales ropes and landed clients such as Wal-Mart.
Richard received a BS in Computing (Honours) from Waterford Institute of Technology (WRTC) Waterford, Ireland in 1994 and is a native of Dublin, Ireland. He now lives with his young family in Andover, MA.
Ethan Ding, Managing Partner, Worldwide Operations
As a Managing Partner at Avantix Global LLC, Ethan is responsible for world wide operations in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Before founding Avantix, Ethan served as Vice President of Business Development, for 8th Network, a US and Hong Kong based start-up consulting firm providing market entry solutions and strategies to U.S. manufacturing and IT companies expanding to the international markets.
Prior to joining 8th Network, Ethan was the Director of Operations at Lionbridge Technologies. In this capacity, Ethan directed all business operations including sales, purchasing, production, and financial reporting for Lionbridge Techonologies Asia Pacific operations (China and Korea). Within two years under his management the two sites doubled in size and revenue and became two of the most profitable production centers in the company. Previously, Ethan was a Senior Production Manager for Lionbridge China, supervising all software globalization and testing projects and serving as primary interface for U.S. and European clients.
Ethan has a BA degree in Social Sciences from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio, in 1994. Ethan has also completed graduate studies in Translation and Interpreting at The Monterey Institute for International Studies from 1996 to 1998.
